JJP lobbies Baronness Syeeda Warsi, Conservative Peer

In July 2023 JJP lobbied Baroness Sayeeda Warsi to make contact with the new Conservative Friends of Palestine Parliamentary Group that she founded. Baroness Warsi was formerly an MP and Chair of the Conservative Party.

Our letter to Baroness Warsi is below:

Dear Baroness Warsi,

We are writing to request a meeting with you following the formation of the Conservative Friends of Palestine.

We would like to discuss how Jews for Justice for Palestinians can best try to influence the Conservative Party to become willing advocate for the UK to apply pressure on Israel to end the occupation.

We are particularly concerned about the “policy paper” on bilateral relations between the UK and Israel and the subsequent anti-BDS bill. The unsaid but very clear message of these two documents is that the Conservative Party now accepts both occupation and settlement project as legitimate, and accordingly views Palestinian resistance of any kind as as illegitimate.

I hope to hear from shortly to arrange a meeting.
