Israel’s Last Gatekeeper Must Have the Courage to Probe Netanyahu’s Tycoon Ties

The thing is that in Israel, you play a dual role. One of your two hats is head of the prosecution. Granted, it isn’t fair. Most of the work is supposed to be done by State Prosecutor Amit Aisman. But he has proven to be worthless.

There were also other gatekeepers who were supposed to protect us. For instance, the Finance Ministry’s accountant general, Yali Rothenberg; the head of the Shin Bet, Ronen Bar; the state comptroller, Matanyahu Englman.

But when it comes to the Netanyahu family, they are cowards. And even though Netanyahu has been under investigation or on trial for a decade now, the corruption continues, and is even spreading.

I want to bring one issue to your attention that you should definitely look into, and that may require a police investigation. There are several others. But let’s start with Simon Falic.

Last Saturday, Netanyahu once again stayed in Falic’s fortified palace, complete with a bunker and a pool, due to the threat of the Iranian attack. He also spent a month there after the massacre on October 7, and on previous occasions as well.

I want to bring one issue to your attention that you should look into, and that may require a police probe. There are others. But let’s start with Simon Falic.

This violates the Gifts Law. Netanyahu can’t squat in a foreign tycoon’s mansion. He must either refrain from staying there or pay rent set by an assessor.
