The speakers: Salman Shaikh and Henry G. Hogger are representatives of the Muslim West Facts Project, and regularly present the project’s findings to key government agencies and officials throughout Europe.
Salman Shaikh is Director for Policy and Research for the Office of Her Highness Sheikha Mozah, First Lady of Qatar. He serves as the principal liaison for Her Highness and the Office on economic, educational, social, and foreign policy. Prior to assuming his current role, Mr. Shaikh was a Political Adviser to the Special Adviser of the U.N. Secretary-General for the Middle East, providing political advice, analysis, and recommendations on Middle East issues.
Henry G. Hogger
, CMG, retired from the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 2004. His career spanned 35 years and included six postings in the Middle East. Mr. Hogger served as Governorate Coordinator for the Coalition Provisional Authority in Basra, Iraq, from 2003 to 2004 and as the British Ambassador to Syria from 2000 to 2003. Since his retirement, Mr. Hogger has served as a Senior Consultant for Middle East Consultants Ltd., consulting on a broad range of issue.
