Hidden hand of US counter-terrorism guides PA

The extent to which the US bureau of counterterrorism is directing the PA in how to defeat anti-Israel or pro-Islamist militants is partly revealed in this State dept report – though it doesn’t mention sharing intelligence with Israeli security which it surely does. It leaves propaganda work to the PA. The key work of finding where the money comes from, how to trace it, how it’s laundered seems straight out of a CIA handbook.

The real threat which Israel poses

Robert Grenier, former director of the CIA’s counter-terrorism operation, asks why the UK accepts ‘those who would passively allow their democratic institutions to be suborned to the benefit of a foreign power’. He asks us to ‘wake up’.

‘Israel has best counter-terrorism techniques in the world’

The ADL (Anti-Defamation League) has been organising trips to Israel for American police officers reveals Mondoweiss. They go to learn about counter-terrorism. This could be an illustration for Jeff Halper’s book ‘War Against the People’ – pacification techniques pioneered by Israeli state forces.

Targeted killing: short-term gain in an endless war

This Washington Post article, the first of three, is not strictly to do with Jews, justice and Palestinians. It describes the development of Pres. Obama’s anti-terrorism strategy – a ‘disposition matrix’ in which the danger of a named terrorist is aligned with the resources deployed against him. It is being used for suspects in the Middle East and has similarities with Israel’s policy of targeted killings hence its posting here.

British war regulations against (Jewish) terrorists may be made new law in Israel

The Knesset has passed the first stage of a bill bringing eemergency regulations into permanent law. State powers of detention , secret evidence, the burden of proof amongst other judicial procedures wil be changed in favour of state prosecutors and against the ‘suspect’ if the bill proceeds. Report from electronic intifada, followed by a ;position paper on the new bill from ACRI
