The plot to infiltrate UK: exposé not antisemitic

In a 70 page document Ofcom, the press regulator, dismissed all complaints that the Al Jazeera series The Lobby was unfair, invasive of privacy or antisemitic. Articles from Al Jazeera and UK Press Gazette.

Incitement to cast out Palestinians

Israeli police still arrest Palestinian kids throwing stones but their policing has been greatly expanded by tours of duty on Facebook. Lots more arrests for ‘incitement’. And what of all those right-wing Israelis spewing hatred of Palestinians asks Edo Konrad. Plus Al Jazeera responds to the PM’s attack.

The fake ‘facts’ of the Labour right wing

David Planck applies his usual forensic precision to what Al Jazeera revealed about the machinations to subvert British politics by political officers at the Israeli embassy and what this revealed about the disingenuous and malicious claims about antisemitism in the Labour Party. To these accusers supporting Palestinian rights, as Corbyn does, is a form of antisemitism.

Alleging antisemitism is Labour right’s ‘defining narrative now’

The cheapest and simplest way of felling enemies is to claim they are antisemitic. People who know little of Israel or Palestine but do know they abhor the Labour left are grateful to have been fed this line of attack against Corbyn et al. Al Jazeera and Mondoweiss.

The real threat which Israel poses

Robert Grenier, former director of the CIA’s counter-terrorism operation, asks why the UK accepts ‘those who would passively allow their democratic institutions to be suborned to the benefit of a foreign power’. He asks us to ‘wake up’.

Israel’s plot against UK critics

The corridors of power resound with the bangs of doors slamming and feet running as Israeli diplomats put as much distance between their London embassy and a plot revealed by Al Jazeera to bring down MPs critical of Israeli policy, beginning with May’s chum and deputy foreign minister Sir Alan Duncan. The key transcript is included in the Mail article.

Al Jazeera caves in to American pro-Israeli censorship – and repents

In a disturbing development for any online newspaper hoping to operate in the USA, Al Jazeera removed an article by provocative intellectual Joseph Massad. Ali Abuminah speculates this follows from the ‘cozy’ relationship between an Al Jazeera director and Chicago’s pro-Israeli mayor, Rahm Emanuel. Glenn Greenwald deplores this self-censorship and fear of causing offence as he hunts for the missing article. (He should have checked our website where it has been since it was first posted on Al Jazeera. It has now been restored by Al Jazeera.)

My role in the release of Palestine Papers

Ziyad Clot, an adviser to the PLO in post-Oslo negotiations, came to regard the ‘peace process’ as a destructive farce in which the Palestinian people were being being misled into further entrapment
