17 June London / Settlement Expansion in the Jordan Valley

June 15, 2009
Richard Kuper

Unfortunately only one farmer from the Jordan Valley has been given a visa by the British Government to come to Britain. One other applied but this was turned down on the grounds that he did not have enough money and could abscond, were he to come here for any length of time. It was felt that since the other two farmers were also poor, the likelihood was that they too would be refused and the expense of travelling to Jordan only to be refused a visa, was too great.
So in the end only one farmer is in this country. We still decided to go ahead with only one farmer but in the end, it became imperative that he travel to Germany to put the Jordan valley case there.
So the people from Brighton Tuba group, who have been working with the farmers for some considerable time are coming up to make a presentation on the situation in the Jordan valley.
We do hope that you will still consider coming to the meeting but will understand if you do not feel it is worth your while. However please be assured that the information that will be imparted is still very important.
