There has been lots of media coverage of JfJfP messages this week and last, including BBC NW news, Manchester Evening News, and over 500 Jews signing JfJfP advert in The Times.

* PROTEST THE CONTINUING OCCUPATION AND SEIGE OF GAZA
There are several other opportunities to raise voices against the continuing occupation and siege of Gaza.

There is a meeting this evening regarding Gaza, details attached. Voices from Palestine. Public Meeting by Gaza Solidarity Committee 7pm Friday 23rd January Friends Meeting House, Mount St. Manchester. Dr Tareq Tahbouh, Palestinian Medic; Mushier Al-Farrah, Palestinian from Khan Younis, Gaza, Sheffield PSC.

Two Manchester Marches for Gaza Sunday 25th January, details attached. North Manchester assemble 12 noon, Goldstone Park, corner Waterloo Road/Cheetham Hill Road, Cheetham Hill, M8. South Manchester assemble 12.30pm, Moss Lane East entrance to Whitworth Park, Wilmslow Road, Rusholme M14. Both march into Manchester and meet together for a Rally for Gaza at Castlefield Arena off Liverpool Rd. Following the partial Israeli withdrawal we now demand END THE SIEGE! BOYCOTT ISRAELI GOODS! STOP ARMS SALES TO ISRAEL! BRING THE WAR CRIMINALS TO JUSTICE! END THE OCCUPATION! FREE PALESTINE! Organised by Gaza Solidarity Committee, supported by Manchester Stop the War

London Demo for Gaza Sat 24th Jan. Coach details: Manchester Stop the War coaches leave 7am Man Uni Students Union, Jaffa Cafe Rusholme, and Chorlton Library. Tickets £10/£15/£20. Call Nahalla 07988 572 976 to secure a seat. Buy your ticket at the BBC vigils 5.30-6.30pm every day this week. London demo assembles BBC Broadcasting House, Portland Place London W1A 1AA March to 10 Downing St.

Daily vigil outside the BBC, 5.30 to 6.30pm.

I’ve been told about a vigil on Market Street by Women in Black every Tuesday and Thursday. Other recent protests have included shoe protests (Manchester Evening News last Monday), supermarket boycott actions, Milliband pulls out of Manchester meeting, and protests at Lloyds TSB for closing the account of InterPal – a charity delivering aid direct to Gaza.

Another Israel exhibition, profiling Israeli peace groups, is also available as well as being on show in Halifax.

* FUTURE JfJfP MEETING 
Date of next meeting to plan activities: Friday 20th February @ 6.30pm at Sheila’s house near Stalybridge station. Lifts are also available from Manchester.

* FUNDRAISING SOCIAL – Saturday 28 February
Manchester Jews for Justice for Palestinians have the pleasure of inviting all signatories and friends to a fundraising social evening. The event aims to raise money to help rebuild Palestinian homes demolished by the state of Israel. Family friendly activities will include food, auction, quiz, film and early Purim fun activities. Saturday 28 February from 5pm to 10pm @ Jo’s house, Longsight, Manchester M13. RSVP 0797 007 5704.
