On Thursday, 26th March, 2009, before sunrise, IDF soldiers entered the Palestinian village Hares (in the area of Salfit – Ariel), arrested some 150 people, including children and youngsters, and took them to the school for interrogation. The operation lasted from 02:00 AM untill 04:30 PM. In searches that the soldiers carried out at homes in the village, they caused damage to walls, furniture, property and foodstuffs. Some of the arrested people were beaten and four were taken to a detention facility. One of the beaten people needed medical treatment. An ambulance that came to the village was not allowed in. The military did not send the wounded person for treatment to the military ambulance which was on the spot either. The army prevented journalists from entering the village.
